Beef Stroganoff
Something which doesn't involve chicken, is very yummy and is even cheap to make!
Ingredients
- Beef rump steak ($4)
- Rice (1/2 cup per person)
- Onions & garlic
- Flour (couple of table spoon will do)
- Sour cream
- Cup of Instant microwave soup
Method
Cut beef into cm wide strips. Put some oil in the frying pan and start frying. Add chopped onions and moosh-ed up garlic shortly after. Soon
after start cooking the rice (don't wait till the end like me!)
When the meat starts looking cooked pour in some of the instant soup and add flour to thicken. Basically make a nice yummy sauce to go with it.
When everything is almost done, dollup in a couple of forks of sour cream and stir through.
Drain & rinse rice, place artistically on plate with beef mixture on the top. Magic.
Variations
- Subs in whatever you want in place of the instant soup — white wine, mushrooms, beef sauce...
